Job Summary
Dubai Sports City, a premier sporting and lifestyle destination spread over 50 million square feet in the heart of New Dubai, is hiring an experienced Accountant with a background in the Hospitality industry. The role is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities, maintaining accurate financial records, processing financial transactions, preparing reconciliations and supporting timely financial reporting. The successful candidate will also assist with month-end closing activities and ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards and applicable tax requirements. Candidates need a minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant accounting experience with previous Hospitality industry exposure, a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce, and strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations and financial reporting. Experience with Micros and Concept is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records
- Process financial transactions including invoices, payment requests and receipts
- Prepare bank reconciliations and account reconciliations
- Support timely financial reporting and month-end closing activities
- Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger entries
- Perform revenue reconciliation and daily financial transaction reviews
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards and UAE VAT requirements
- Support year-end closing and coordinate with different departments
- Maintain accurate records in accounting and ERP systems including Micros and Concept where applicable
Qualifications & Requirements
The ideal candidate for this Accountant vacancy in Dubai must meet the following criteria:
Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant experience as an Accountant
- Previous experience in the Hospitality industry
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures with experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations and financial reporting
- Experience in preparing invoices, payment requests, receipts and other financial documents
- Good understanding of daily financial transactions, revenue reconciliation, month-end and year-end closing and UAE VAT requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Excel and accounting or ERP systems
- Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication, organisational and time-management skills with the ability to work effectively with different departments and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Micros and Concept is an advantage
- Prior experience in hospitality, leisure or sports venue accounting
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CMA or CPA
- Exposure to multi-entity or group-level accounting structures
