Job Summary
SMC Consultancy is hiring an experienced Accounts Payable Accountant for a 6 to 10 month project assignment in the UAE. The role is hands-on and SAP-driven, focused on supplier reconciliations, invoice verification, advance management and month-end closing support.
The successful candidate must hold their own UAE residency visa, possess an accounting degree, have prior UAE experience and demonstrate proficiency in SAP for accounts payable transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform supplier ledger reconciliations against supplier statements and processed payments.
- Manage advances to suppliers, including booking, tracking and updating supplier invoices and ledgers.
- Complete supplier invoice verification in line with company policy and supporting documentation.
- Liaise with suppliers on payment-related issues and provide customer payment status updates to internal stakeholders.
- Prepare and post month-end closing entries relating to accounts payable.
- Manage day-to-day handling of other suppliers and ensure smooth payable operations.

Mandatory Requirements
- Hands-on experience working with SAP for Accounts Payable operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
- Prior UAE accounting experience.
- Must hold own UAE residency visa — employer-sponsored visa will not be provided for this contract.
Preferred
- Strong working knowledge of supplier reconciliations, advances and three-way invoice matching.
- Experience working in shared service centres, large finance teams or outsourced accounting environments.
- Good Microsoft Excel skills for ledger analysis and reconciliations.
