Job Summary
Sama International School in Khalifa City A, Abu Dhabi, is looking for a Laboratory Assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Medical Laboratory Science, Laboratory Technology, Applied Science, or a related scientific discipline. Previous experience in a school or laboratory environment is preferred. UAE Nationals are preferred. Candidates must have a minimum IELTS band score of 6 for non-native English speakers.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and organise laboratories, equipment, materials and practical activities for Biology, Chemistry and Physics lessons
- Maintain laboratory safety, chemical handling, equipment maintenance, storage and safe disposal procedures
- Manage inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment
- Support Science Teachers and students during practical sessions
- Ensure laboratories are clean, organized, and ready for use
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and materials
Qualifications & Requirements
The ideal candidate for this Laboratory Assistant vacancy must meet the following criteria:
Mandatory
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Medical Laboratory Science, Laboratory Technology, Applied Science, or a related scientific discipline
- Good knowledge of laboratory safety, chemical handling, equipment maintenance, storage and safe disposal procedures
- Ability to prepare and organise laboratories, equipment, materials and practical activities for Biology, Chemistry and Physics lessons
- Good organisational and inventory-management skills
Eligibility
- Previous experience working in a school, laboratory, university or educational environment is preferred for at least 1 year
- Minimum IELTS band score of 6 for non-native English speakers
- Preferably UAE Nationals
- Willing to work in Khalifa City A, Abu Dhabi
- Ability to work effectively with Science Teachers, students and the Science Department
