Job Overview
Job Summary
Emarat is seeking a Financial Controller to manage and process finance and accounting activities for EMOIL and EMDAD. This role involves financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, project accounting, cash flow monitoring, and management reporting. The position coordinates with Finance, Terminal Operations, JV Partners, suppliers, customers, auditors, IT, and Shared Services.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for EMOIL and EMDAD
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities
- Maintain General Ledger accounts, reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Monitor balance sheet accounts and follow up outstanding or reconciling items
- Ensure accounting entries comply with EMARAT policies, IFRS and approved procedures
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, business plans and cash flow projections
- Analyze actual performance against budget and provide variance explanations
Qualifications & Requirements
The ideal candidate for this Financial Controller vacancy must meet the following criteria:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CA or CMA is preferred
- 3-5 years of accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and closing experience
- Experience in Oil & Gas, petroleum, terminal operations, JV accounting or related industries is preferred
- Experience in audit coordination, reconciliations and internal control requirements is preferred
Knowledge
- Knowledge of IFRS, UAE accounting requirements and Company policies
- Knowledge of Oracle Financial systems or similar accounting systems
- Understanding of internal controls, ICFR and Delegation of Authority principles
- Analytical skills, attention to detail and strong follow-up discipline
- Good communication and coordination skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Fluency in English and Arabic is preferred
