Description
Positions:
- Fire Pump Engineer

Technical Support & Testing:
- Support fire pump troubleshooting, maintenance, and operational queries.
- Perform on-site or in-house testing in compliance with NFPA 20, UL 448, UL 142, FM 1319, FM 1311, and FM 1370.
- Generate detailed test reports and suggest improvements.
Quotations & Documentation:
- Prepare accurate offers for pumps and accessories based on project specs.
- Handle vertical turbine pump pricing and electric load/PRV/engine deration calculations.
Technical Submittals & Compliance:
- Develop submittals with datasheets, curves, GA drawings, and compliance statements.
- Address consultant comments and draft technical letters (e.g., justifications, confirmations).
- Submit supporting documents like COO certificates and component approvals.
Training & Presentations:
- Deliver internal/external training on pump systems.
- Prepare case studies, manuals, and technical presentations.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field.
- Experience: 3-4 years in fire pump engineering/testing/support.
- Knowledge: Strong in NFPA, UL, and FM standards; familiarity with sprinkler systems, valves, and control panels.
- Clear technical communication and documentation
- Strong MS Office skills; engineering software is a plus
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- NFPA Fire Pump Specialist or equivalent
- UL/FM training in fire pumps is an asset
- Willing to travel locally/regionally for commissioning or support
