Description

MEP Senior Quantity Surveyor required for a leading MEP Company in UAE.

The position will be to lead on the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) specific deliverables on a large project.

The individual must be self-motivated and contractor facing. This will involve establishing early budgets, early estimating, cost planning and post contract reporting to the Project Manager.

A good knowledge of MEP systems is fundamental with the ability to work both collaboratively but robustly with any main contractor.

Responsibilities

• Dealing effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes
• Taking personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on large project and in all cases ensuring that timely and accurate cost checking and valuation takes place
• Producing monthly post contract cost reports
• Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
• Interfacing with the main contractor & consultant
• Manage and oversee the post-contract stage of projects, with a focus on MEP packages.
• Preparing & submission of Payment Application and responsible for getting it certified.
• Provide expert advice and guidance on project cost management, contract administration, and risk assessment to ensure project delivery is within budget and meets financial compliance requirements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure that the project budget is aligned with the project requirements.
• Monitor and report on project costs and variations, including the management of project change control procedures.
• Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge of the construction industry, including cost trends and best practices.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
• Experience in delivering MEP elements of work
• Minimum of 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in a similar role, with hands-on experience in MEP packages
• Experience in managing MEP packages with a strong understanding of relevant technical aspects
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks throughout the project life-cycle, with particular emphasis on MEP packages
• Commercially astute with good negotiation skills.
