Job Description:

The Bulletin Producer is a senior member of an output team responsible for a segment of Sky News Arabia's programming. During your timeslot, you will work under the direction of an Executive Producer to create and shape our news coverage.  While your Executive Producer is on air, you will be the output team's leader in the newsroom, directing producers and liaising with the news desk over the development of stories. You will also deputies for your Executive Producer when appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Working under the direction of an Executive Producer to produce distinctive and stylish news coverage for a segment of Sky News Arabia's programming.
• Leading the newsroom output team while your segment is on air, and deputizing for the EP when required
• Writing scripts for on-air talent and editing the scripts of others
• Cutting pictures using a newsroom production system, commissioning and writing graphics and other task as required.
• Ensuring Sky News Arabia's editorial guidelines and values are adhered to.
• Working with your team's EP and producers, as well as with the news desk and online, to cultivate a collaborative approach to news gathering and delivery across Sky News Arabia.
• Required to work within a shift pattern across the whole week and including nights to service the needs of a 24 hour news channel.

Requirements

• Experience in television news, including television news production.
• An excellent journalist with strong editorial judgment.
• Previous experience in a national or international broadcast news channel.
• Experience of newsroom production systems and desktop editing.
• Experience of or appreciation of the benefits and difficulties of cross-platform working.
• Evidence of a broad range of journalistic interests including social affairs, international politics, public policy, world business and economic affairs, Sciences and the Arts.
• Fluent in both written and spoken Arabic and English.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience required.
• BA in journalism or other related social science major.
