Job Summary
Cascade Engineering & Contracting is seeking an Automation Engineer specializing in Control and Safety Systems for a one-year (extendable) role in Abu Dhabi. The position provides technical support for automation and control system engineering, including reviewing and implementing modifications in PLC, DCS and SIS systems, developing control narratives, logic diagrams and cause & effect charts, and participating in FAT/SAT, commissioning and system integration testing. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Instrumentation with 2–3 years of Oil & Gas experience and a strong understanding of SIS, ESD and F&G systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for automation and control system engineering activities.
- Review and implement modifications in PLC, DCS and SIS systems.
- Review and develop control narratives, logic diagrams and cause & effect charts.
- Participate in FAT/SAT, commissioning and system integration testing.
- Analyze and troubleshoot process control issues to enhance reliability and performance.
- Coordinate with project and operations teams to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Support the maintenance and optimization of existing control and safety systems.
Qualifications & Requirements
The ideal candidate for this Automation Engineer vacancy in Abu Dhabi must meet the following criteria:
Mandatory
- Bachelor of Engineering in Instrumentation.
- 2–3 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Hands-on experience with major automation platforms (PLC, DCS, SIS).
- Strong understanding of SIS, ESD, F&G systems and process automation.
Preferred
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus and Ethernet.
- Knowledge of IEC 61511 and functional safety concepts.
- Excellent technical documentation and reporting abilities.
