Job Summary
Al Gharbia Pipe Company is seeking an experienced Accountant - Accounts Receivable to join its Finance team in Abu Dhabi. The role manages customer invoicing, collections, receivables reconciliation, cash receipts and reporting while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 4 years of accounts receivable experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment, strong VAT and reconciliation knowledge, and ERP and advanced Excel skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate, verify and record customer invoices accurately, supported by relevant documentation such as purchase orders, sales orders, delivery notes and shipping documents.
- Maintain accurate customer records, invoicing data, VAT-related transactions and payment records.
- Monitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding payments to ensure timely collections.
- Record customer receipts, adjustments and reconciliations, and reconcile AR balances and customer statements regularly.
- Prepare receivables, collection, invoicing, VAT and aging reports.
- Analyze receivable trends, collection efficiency, DSO and bad debt provisions.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, customer queries and payment issues, and assess collection risks.
- Support month-end closing, financial reporting, cash flow forecasting and audits while ensuring compliance and process improvement.
Qualifications & Requirements
The ideal candidate for this Accountant - Accounts Receivable vacancy in Abu Dhabi must meet the following criteria:
Mandatory
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of Accounts Receivable experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of invoicing, collections, receivables management, customer account reconciliation and VAT.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Preferred
- Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving abilities.
- UAE or GCC experience and knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience in manufacturing sector accounting and the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
