Associate, ESG Analytics:
ESG & Client Analytics is a part of Banking Chief Commercial Office (CCO) aligned to Business Performance and Client Analytics vertical. Purpose of this function is to generate insights and analytics that shapes management decision making.
The unit will have a special focus on the growing ESG Analytics space while continuing to embed client and business analytics practices more widely in the organisation.
The team will collaborate with Data & Architecture, Technology and external partners to create and deliver insights and analytics products that best fits the evolving business needs, while staying aligned to the strategic objectives of GBM.
Responsibilities:
- Work extensively in an integrated team environment and collaborate with WESGaaS colleagues and stakeholders across locations and functions
- Conduct research and generate actionable insights for the business stakeholders
- Understand complex data and resolve issues in the process of building analytical tools to support frontline staff and senior management
- Support coordination and collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders including WCDAO, DAO, Commercial Banking, Markets Data, IT, Compliance and other Strategy Teams internally; as well as third parties and market data provider externally to develop value proposition
- Support ESG Analytics commercialization in a multi-disciplinary and agile way of working with the aim to increase adoption to enhance frontline experience
- Support generation of actionable insights for business and empower frontline with ESG Analytics through co-creation and establish feedback loop to enhance analytics roll out
- Support initiatives to empower frontline with business-oriented sustainability content with the interlock with Future of the Frontline and other Transformation programmes
- Provide timely and accurate status reporting to key stakeholders; and executive updates to programme sponsors
- Work on root cause analysis and solve problems systematically, logically and independently, escalating where appropriate
- Understand and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business
- Actively contribute to the idea generation and business growth / enhancement opportunities
- Pro-actively suggest and design improvements in process workflow, where applicable
- Proactively seek different assignments to accelerate learning
- Contribute to initiatives in Global Banking such as L&D, Best Practices and Well-being as well as other global strategic projects as needed
Requirements:
- Graduation / Post Graduation degree from reputed institute (with a good CGPA score)
- Strong analytical thought process and aptitude for problem solving
- Team-oriented mindset combined with the ability to complete tasks independently to a high quality standard
- Strong understanding of HSBC wholesale banking data systems and credit risk drivers
- Strong understanding of the broader HSBC ESG and sustainability agenda
- Skilled in Data Analytics, Data Governance and Management
- Programming experience in Python, PySpark, and SQL for data analysis and automation will be preferred
- Experience of operating in a global setting / interacting with Business Partners and Senior Management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
